Arbour Hill Cemetery

Arbour Hill Cemetery lies just west of Dublin city centre, near Stoneybatter and the old military barracks quarter. It is the burial place of the executed leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, whose remains were interred here in a plot behind the church.

The memorial area includes a limestone wall inscribed with the Proclamation of the Irish Republic in Irish and English, set beside a simple lawn plot. It is a quiet, sober place rather than a busy attraction, and it is often visited alongside nearby Collins Barracks and Kilmainham Gaol.
