Ballyhass Adventure Group - Coachford

Ballyhass Adventure Group’s Coachford site is an outdoor activity park in County Cork, set in a former quarry on the shores of Inniscarra Lake, around 20 to 25 minutes from Cork City. Its combination of open water and dramatic quarry walls makes an unusual setting for a day of adventure, whether you arrive as a family, a group of friends or a company outing.

The park is best known for its Aquapark, a floating inflatable obstacle course on the lake where you can climb, slide, bounce and race across the water. Alongside it are high nets suspended in the air, paddle sports including kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, guided kayak tours on the River Lee, archery and axe throwing. More recently the site has added outdoor wood-burning saunas paired with a lake plunge, for those who fancy wild swimming and a warm-up afterwards.

Activities run on a “challenge by choice” basis, so you take part at your own pace and no one is pushed further than they wish to go. You do not need to be a strong swimmer, only comfortable floating in a lifejacket, and the park generally welcomes ages six and upwards. Facilities are family and dog friendly with free parking on site, and an all-access day pass lets you sample the full range of activities. Ballyhass also runs a sister centre near Mallow, so it is worth checking which site suits your plans before you travel.
