Profile
Bull Island lies in Dublin Bay, County Dublin, a sandy island that formed after the building of the Bull Wall and is joined to the mainland by a wooden bridge and a causeway. Its long strand, Dollymount, runs the length of the seaward side, backed by dunes and salt marsh.
The island is a designated biosphere and one of the finest places near the city for birdwatching, especially in winter when large numbers of wading birds and geese feed on the mudflats. Keep dogs under control and stay off sensitive dune areas.
