Burren Art & Craft Fair

The Burren Art & Craft Fair brings together a collective of artisans, artists and photographers based in and around the Burren, the distinctive limestone landscape of County Clare. Held in the Village Hall in Ballyvaughan, the fair gives visitors the chance to browse and buy handmade work directly from the people who create it.

The fair runs on Sundays through the warmer months, typically from spring into October, and gathers a rotating line-up of around a dozen or more stalls. On any given day you might find hand-knitted Aran and woollen pieces, ceramics and porcelain, stained glass, jewellery, woodturning, leatherwork, felt and wearable art, botanical art, photography, oil paintings, quilts, and handmade soaps and herbal products, all made in Ireland.

Because the makers themselves staff the stalls, a visit is as much about conversation as shopping. The craftspeople are happy to talk through their materials and methods, so you can learn the story behind a piece before deciding to take it home. It makes for a relaxed, welcoming stop while exploring Ballyvaughan and the wider Burren region.
