Profile
Calafort Ros an Mhil (Rossaveel Harbour) is the main fishing and ferry port of south Connemara, at Rossaveal in County Galway, roughly 40 kilometres west of Galway City.
It is the principal mainland departure point for ferries to the Aran Islands, and is also one of Ireland’s busier fishing harbours, so there is usually activity on the piers. Even for those not sailing, the harbour is a good place to watch working boats come and go against the low granite and lake-strewn landscape of the Connemara Gaeltacht.
