Ceann Iorrais (Erris Head)

Ceann Iorrais, or Erris Head, is the northern tip of the Mullet Peninsula near Belmullet in County Mayo, where the land gives out into the Atlantic in a run of cliffs and headland. A looped walk takes in the coastline, and the exposed position makes it a rewarding spot for watching seabirds.

This is remote, open country with few facilities, so come prepared for wind and changeable weather and keep well back from cliff edges. Belmullet itself is the nearest town for parking, refreshments and local information before setting out.
