Profile
Doagh Famine Village stands on the Isle of Doagh near Ballyliffin on the Inishowen peninsula, County Donegal. It is an open-air visitor attraction that recreates aspects of Irish rural life from the years of the Great Famine through to more recent times.
Reconstructed cottages and displays are presented with a guide, covering emigration, hardship, tradition and everyday life on this exposed northern coast. Refreshments are available on site. The setting beside the Atlantic adds a good deal to the experience, and it pairs well with a visit to nearby Ballyliffin beach.
