Doolin Music House

Doolin Music House offers an intimate evening of traditional Irish music in the home of musician Christy Barry and his partner Sheila, an artist, in the village of Doolin, County Clare. Rather than a conventional pub or concert hall, it is a small, informal gathering hosted in a domestic setting, giving guests an up-close encounter with the music and the people behind it.

Across the evening, Christy and a fellow musician, often the fiddle player James Devitt, perform a range of traditional Irish tunes. Between sets, Christy shares stories about the music, his own life, and the history of the pub and session scene in Doolin, weaving together performance, history and conversation. Guests are also served refreshments, typically canapés of smoked salmon, brown bread and a selection of Irish cheese and crackers, along with a glass of wine.

Set within the Burren and along the Wild Atlantic Way, Doolin has a long-standing reputation as a centre for traditional Irish music, and the Music House provides a more personal way to experience it. The concerts are held on a limited number of evenings during the season, and booking in advance is required, as places are strictly limited.
