Dublin Castle

Dublin Castle stands in the heart of Dublin city, County Dublin, and was for centuries the seat of British administration in Ireland. Today it is a state complex used for ceremonial occasions, including the inauguration of the President, as well as conferences and cultural events.

Visitors can tour the State Apartments, see the medieval undercroft and the Chapel Royal, and walk the courtyards and gardens. The site also houses the Chester Beatty library and museum, and it sits within easy walking distance of Temple Bar and the city’s other central attractions.
