Profile
Fintown Railway, known in Irish as An Mhuc Dhubh, is a restored narrow-gauge line in the Gaeltacht heart of County Donegal. It runs along the shore of Lough Finn on part of the trackbed of the old County Donegal Railways system, once one of the largest narrow-gauge networks in these islands.
The short return journey by the water is the attraction, along with the preserved rolling stock and the story of a railway network that shaped travel across the county before the roads took over.
