Profile
Foxford Rocks takes its name from a stretch of the River Moy at Foxford in County Mayo, on one of Ireland’s best-known salmon rivers. The Moy draws anglers from across the country and beyond through the fishing season.
Fishing here is organised through beats and permits rather than open access, so anglers should arrange permits and check the current season, methods and bag limits before setting out. A State salmon licence is required for salmon angling in Ireland. Even for non-anglers, the riverside at Foxford makes a pleasant place for a walk.
