Glenveagh National Park and Castle

Glenveagh National Park covers a vast stretch of mountain, bog, lake and woodland in the north-west of County Donegal, reached from Letterkenny. It is one of Ireland’s national parks and home to a red deer herd, golden eagles and some of the wildest country in the county.

At its centre, on the shore of Lough Veagh, stands Glenveagh Castle, a nineteenth-century mansion with guided tours of its interior and gardens laid out around it. A visitor centre, exhibitions, walking trails and a cafe make it a full day out.
