Profile
Inis Bó Finne, or Inishbofin Island, lies off the north-west coast of County Donegal, near the Gweedore and Magheraroarty shore and not to be confused with the island of the same name in County Galway. It is a small, low island with a scattering of houses and a strong Irish-speaking tradition.
Beaches, machair grassland and rocky shore make it good ground for walking and for watching seabirds and other coastal wildlife. Access is by local boat from the mainland, and crossings depend on sea conditions.
