Profile
Inishbofin (Inis Bó Finne) is an inhabited island off the Connemara coast of County Galway, reached by ferry from the mainland. Its harbour, low hills, cliffs and sandy bays make it a popular destination for walkers, swimmers, birdwatchers and anyone after a slower pace than the mainland offers.
Waymarked looped walks cover much of the island, and a small resident community keeps pubs, accommodation and traditional music going year-round. Ferry timetables vary with season and weather, so plan crossings carefully and allow for changes.
