Irish Film Institute

The Irish Film Institute is Temple Bar’s home of cinema, tucked into the cobbled streets at the heart of Dublin’s cultural quarter. Its screens are given over to Irish films, world cinema, documentaries, classics and seasons that rarely reach the multiplexes.

Alongside the programme, the IFI is a centre for film culture more broadly, with an archive preserving Ireland’s moving-image heritage, a film shop and regular talks and festivals. The building has a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere, and it is an easy place to spend an afternoon or evening between other Temple Bar wanderings.
