Irish Working Sheepdogs

Irish Working Sheepdogs is located at Ballybought, County Kildare, on working farmland in the county.

Demonstrations of this kind show trained collies at work with a shepherd, moving sheep across open ground to whistled and spoken commands — a skill still central to Irish and hill farming. Visits typically include a chance to meet the dogs, see young dogs being trained, and learn how the partnership between handler and dog is built. It makes an engaging outing for families and anyone curious about farming life.
