Island Roy View

Island Roy View at Leat Beg, County Donegal, looks out over Island Roy, a low tidal island in the sheltered waters of Mulroy Bay on the Fanad side of the county.

This is a quiet spot for taking in the water, the islands and the surrounding shoreline, with birdlife often about on the mudflats and inlets. Mulroy Bay is a maze of channels and small islands, and viewpoints like this one are the easiest way to appreciate its shape. Bring a camera and allow time to simply stand and look.
