Kate Kearney's Cottage

Kate Kearney’s Cottage stands at the entrance to the Gap of Dunloe in County Kerry, at the foot of the mountain road between the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and Purple Mountain. It combines a bar, food service and a shop selling Irish-made goods and souvenirs.

The cottage is the traditional starting point for walkers, cyclists and jaunting-car trips through the Gap, which makes it a busy meeting place through the season. Its name comes from a woman long associated with the spot in local tradition, and the building has been part of Gap of Dunloe lore for generations.
