Kilkenny Design Centre

Kilkenny Design Centre stands in the Castle Yard opposite Kilkenny Castle, in the heart of Kilkenny City, County Kilkenny. The handsome stone former stable buildings now house a large shop devoted to Irish craft and design, with knitwear, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles and homeware from makers around the country.

There is a restaurant and café on site, so the visit works equally well as a shopping stop or a break for lunch and coffee. Its position beside the castle grounds makes it a natural pause in a day’s walk around the medieval city.
