Lismore Castle Gardens

Lismore Castle Gardens sit within the walls of Lismore Castle in County Waterford, above the River Blackwater. They are among the oldest gardens in Ireland still in cultivation, arranged as a walled upper garden with productive planting and a wooded lower garden of winding walks and mature trees.

Sculpture is placed through the grounds, and the castle’s exterior and the river valley beyond form the backdrop. The gardens open seasonally and the castle itself is a private residence, so access is to the grounds and gallery rather than the house.
