Profile
Lough Beagh is the long, dark lake at the heart of Glenveagh in County Donegal, reached by way of Churchill in the hills west of Letterkenny. Steep slopes of heather and rock rise on either side of the water, giving the glen its striking, enclosed character.
The surrounding land is rich in wildlife, with red deer on the hills and birds of prey overhead, while walking routes follow the lakeshore. The lough has a long association with angling, and the whole valley rewards an unhurried visit in any season.
