Lough Derg Blueway

The Lough Derg Blueway runs along the shores and waters of Lough Derg, with County Clare forming its western side on the River Shannon.

The Blueway links marked routes on and around the lake — cruising and boating, kayaking and paddling, swimming spots, walking and cycling trails — connecting harbour villages such as Killaloe, Mountshannon and Scarriff. Operators along the shore offer hire and guided outings for those without their own craft. It suits both easy family days on sheltered water and longer trips along Ireland’s largest river system.
