Profile
Glengesh Pass, in Irish Mhalaidh Ghleann Gheis, climbs through the hills of south-west County Donegal on the road between Ardara and Glencolmcille, near Roechrow. The route rises steeply and turns back on itself in a series of hairpin bends.
From the top the glen opens out below in a deep U-shaped valley of heather, rough grazing and scattered farms, with a viewing point beside the road. It is one of the most memorable drives in the county, and worth taking slowly in poor visibility or winter conditions.
