Profile
Malinbeg, in Irish Málainn Bhig, lies at the far south-west of County Donegal beyond Glencolmcille. Its best-known feature is the small sheltered cove of Silver Strand, a crescent of pale sand set beneath steep grassy cliffs and reached by a long flight of steps.
The water is clear and the setting dramatic, with the cliffs of Slieve League and the Atlantic horizon not far off. Walking routes run along the headlands nearby, and the area rewards care underfoot and respect for the sea conditions.
