Marlay Demesne

Marlay Demesne is the parkland estate at Rathfarnham in south County Dublin, at the foot of the Dublin Mountains. It takes in open grassland, mature woodland, ponds and walking paths, along with the historic house and courtyard buildings at its centre.

The grounds are a favourite with walkers, runners and families, and the sheltered tree-lined paths make for pleasant going in most weather. Its position on the edge of the city means the built-up suburbs give way quickly to hill views, and long-distance walking routes into the Wicklow uplands begin nearby.
