Michael J Quill Centre

Set in Kilgarvan, County Kerry, the Michael J Quill Centre combines a heritage display with visitor facilities in the heart of the village. It marks the life of Michael J. Quill, a native of the area who rose to prominence as a transport workers’ union leader after emigrating.

As well as the exhibition, the building serves as a local gathering point, with space for community events and refreshments. It is a straightforward stop on the road between Kenmare and Macroom, and a useful introduction to the history of emigration from this part of Kerry.
