National Print Museum

The National Print Museum is in Dublin, housed in the former garrison chapel at Beggars Bush, and preserves the machinery and craft of Irish printing.

Working presses, type cases, composing equipment and bookbinding tools fill the museum floor, with volunteers and staff who often demonstrate how they were used. Displays cover the trade’s role in Irish publishing and print history, from hand-set metal type to later technologies. Workshops and courses in letterpress and related crafts run through the year, and the setting itself gives the collection an appealing character.
