National Transport Museum of Ireland

The National Transport Museum of Ireland is set in the grounds of Howth Demesne in County Dublin, on the peninsula north of the city.

Its collection gathers historic road vehicles from around Ireland: trams, buses, fire engines, commercial lorries, military vehicles and utility transport, many restored by volunteers. The trams in particular record a vanished era of Dublin street travel. Opening arrangements can vary, so it is sensible to check before setting out, and a visit combines easily with the cliff walk and gardens on the surrounding estate.
