Our Lady's Island Monastery

Our Lady’s Island is a monastic and pilgrimage site in south County Wexford, near Rosslare, where a low peninsula reaches into a shallow coastal lake. The ruins of a medieval priory and a leaning Norman tower stand beside the later church.

It has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries, with pilgrims walking the path around the island’s edge, particularly in late summer. The lake itself is a notable spot for birdwatching, with waders and wildfowl using the shallows, so binoculars are worth bringing alongside a stroll around the site.
