Profile
Peche Irlande is a guided angling service based at Ballygreen House in Killaloe, County Clare, on the shores of Lough Derg where the River Shannon begins its final run towards the sea. Run by Jean-Louis Bigot, an experienced angler and qualified tour guide, it offers a range of fishing tours and packages in and around the Shannon Region, arranged for anglers of differing ages and abilities.
Trips extend well beyond the immediate area. Depending on the target species and season, Jean-Louis leads outings for brown trout on rivers such as the Boyne and Suir, pike fishing in County Monaghan, and sea trout and salmon fishing in Kerry. Packages can be tailored to suit the visitor, with support for accommodation and tackle hire arranged alongside the guiding itself.
The service also takes in more than the fishing. As a qualified guide, Jean-Louis can introduce visitors to the local attractions, scenery and historical landmarks of the Shannon area, making it a practical choice for those who want to combine time on the water with a wider sense of the region. It is set up to welcome families as well as more seasoned anglers.
