Portsalon

Portsalon sits on the Fanad peninsula in County Donegal, on the western shore of Lough Swilly near Killavee. Its great draw is the long curve of golden sand at Ballymastocker Bay, sheltered by headlands and backed by rising ground.

The beach is a fine place for walking, swimming and simply taking in the view across the lough to the Inishowen hills. The village is small and quiet, with a golf links nearby, and the coast road north towards Fanad Head is one of the most scenic drives in Donegal.
