Profile
The Robert Emmet Statue stands in Dublin City, County Dublin, commemorating the young leader of the 1803 rising who was tried and executed for his part in it. Emmet’s speech from the dock, with its request that his epitaph be left unwritten until Ireland took her place among the nations, made him one of the enduring figures of Irish republican memory.
The statue is free to view at any hour and makes a natural stop on a walk through the Georgian streets of the south city.
