Profile
Sandycove Beach is a small, sheltered sandy cove on the south Dublin coast, tucked between Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey. Its curve of sand and shallow water make it popular with families, and it is a well-used spot for sea swimming throughout the year.
The cove sits just beside the Forty Foot bathing place and the Martello tower that houses the James Joyce Tower and Museum, so a swim is easily combined with a literary detour. The DART line runs close by at Sandycove and Glasthule station.
