Shannon Estuary Way Retreat

The Shannon Estuary Way Retreat is a wellness centre and holistic health academy on County Clare’s west coast, set on an elevated site in the village of Ballynacally with views out over the Shannon Estuary. Run by husband-and-wife team Rosie and Micheál, it combines a purpose-built retreat centre with a training academy, and lies along the Shannon Estuary Way touring route, around 16km from Ennis.

The centre offers day retreats built around therapeutic yoga, meditation and mindfulness, alongside reflective nature walks in the surrounding countryside. The main building has large east-facing glass windows and underfloor heating, with an indoor yoga studio and space for massage. Outdoors, guests can use an eco cedarwood barrel sauna, a hot tub and an ice bath. Organic meals prepared with locally sourced, in-season produce are part of the experience.

Retreats generally run twice a month, with a full day on Saturday and shorter sessions on Friday and Sunday, and additional workshops and seminars held between weekends. The site has a small shop, shower and changing facilities, and free parking, and it is wheelchair accessible.
