Shelmalier Forth Mountain

Forth Mountain rises above Barntown in County Wexford, a low ridge of rocky outcrops, heath and conifer plantation just west of Wexford town. Despite the name it is modest in height, but it gives wide views over the surrounding lowlands, the Slaney and out towards the coast.

Waymarked forest and hill walks run through the area, making it a straightforward destination for a couple of hours of walking, birdwatching or a picnic. Paths can be rough and wet underfoot in places, so proper footwear is advisable in any season.
