Profile
Stroove is a small coastal settlement on the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal, close to the mouth of Lough Foyle. Its beach is the main draw, a quiet stretch of sand and shingle backed by low headlands and farmland.
The setting suits walking, swimming in season, birdwatching and simply watching shipping move in and out of the Foyle. It sits on the Inishowen 100 touring route, so it works well as a stop on a longer drive around the peninsula.
