Swords Castle

Swords Castle stands in the centre of Swords, the county town of Fingal in north County Dublin. A medieval walled complex associated with the archbishops of Dublin, it survives as a substantial enclosure of stone walls, towers and buildings that has undergone extensive conservation work in recent years.

The castle sits within the town rather than out in open countryside, so it can be combined easily with a walk around Swords and its other medieval remains. Swords is close to Dublin Airport and well served by buses from the city centre.
