The Book of Kells Experience

The Book of Kells Experience is located in Dublin’s south-east inner city, at Trinity College, where the celebrated ninth-century illuminated manuscript of the Gospels is kept.

The visit combines the manuscript itself with an immersive digital presentation exploring how it was made and what its intricate ornament means, and includes access to the Old Library’s Long Room, one of the great interiors of Ireland. It is a fixture of any itinerary built around literary and early Christian Ireland, and booking a timed slot in advance is advisable.
