Profile
The Coombe Memorial stands in The Liberties, County Dublin, one of the oldest quarters of the city, just south-west of the medieval core. It is a piece of public commemorative architecture marking the site of the former Coombe hospital, which served the surrounding neighbourhood for generations before moving elsewhere in the city.
The monument sits in a small open space on the street, free to visit at any time, and forms a natural pause on a walk through the Liberties alongside the area’s churches, markets and distilleries.
