The Irish History Bookshop

The Irish History Bookshop is a specialist bookshop in the village of Cong, County Mayo, on the isthmus between Lough Corrib and Lough Mask.

As the name suggests, its stock centres on Irish history — general histories, local and county studies, biography, folklore and related subjects — new and second-hand. For anyone with an interest in the Irish past, or tracing a family or a county, it is a rewarding browse and a chance to pick up titles that are hard to find elsewhere. Cong itself, with its abbey ruins and river walks, makes the trip worthwhile.
