Profile
The Irish National Stud and Gardens at Tully, near Kildare town, is the state-owned thoroughbred stud farm and one of the county’s leading visitor attractions. Visitors can see stallions, mares and foals, learn how bloodstock breeding works, and visit the horse museum.
The grounds also contain the Japanese Gardens, laid out in the early twentieth century, and St Fiachra’s Garden, a more naturalistic landscape of water and woodland. With a cafe and shop on site, it easily fills half a day. Opening is seasonal, so check times in advance.
