The Little Museum of Dublin

The Little Museum of Dublin tells the story of the city in the twentieth century through objects donated by Dubliners themselves, housed in a Georgian townhouse overlooking St Stephen’s Green. The collection is a magpie’s gathering of photographs, letters, posters, household bits and memorabilia rather than grand state treasures.

Visits are usually guided, with a storyteller walking you through the rooms, which suits the material well: the appeal here is the anecdote and the human detail. It is compact enough to enjoy in an hour and a useful orientation to Dublin early in a trip.
