The Round Tower Clondalkin

The Round Tower at Clondalkin, County Dublin, is one of the best-preserved early medieval round towers in Ireland, standing at the site of an early monastic settlement in what is now a Dublin suburb. Its tall, tapering stone shaft remains a landmark for the village.

A visitor centre beside the tower interprets the site’s monastic past and the surrounding history, with gardens, exhibitions and a café. It is easily reached from the city, and a good stop for anyone interested in Ireland’s early Christian heritage without leaving Dublin.
