The Wexford Slobs and Wildfowl Reserve

The Wexford Slobs and Wildfowl Reserve lies at the North Slob, County Wexford, on reclaimed land beside Wexford Harbour. The flat, ditch-lined polder and its surrounding mudflats form one of Ireland’s most important wintering grounds for wildfowl.

Large numbers of Greenland white-fronted geese, along with swans, ducks and waders, gather here from autumn through to spring, and hides and a visitor centre allow close observation without disturbing the birds. Winter is the peak season for birdwatching, though the reserve rewards a visit at any time of year.
