Profile
Trinity College sits behind its railings at College Green in the centre of Dublin, County Dublin, and is Ireland’s oldest university. Cobbled squares, the campanile and the grey Georgian frontage make the grounds a pleasant place to wander even for those with no lectures to attend.
The college is best known to visitors for its Old Library and the Book of Kells, the illuminated gospel manuscript displayed alongside the timber-lined Long Room. Guided walks led by students cover the history of the university and its buildings, and the campus is an easy stop between Grafton Street and Dame Street.
