War Memorial Gardens

The Irish National War Memorial Gardens lie at Islandbridge in the Ushers area of Dublin, County Dublin, on the south bank of the Liffey. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, they commemorate the Irish soldiers who died in the First World War.

The layout is formal, with sunken rose gardens, granite bookrooms, fountains and terraces set above the river, framed by lawns and mature trees. The gardens are quiet and open to the public, serving both as a memorial and as a park, with walks continuing along the river and towards the Phoenix Park nearby.
