Profile
West Gate Heritage Tower stands in Wexford, County Wexford, and is the last surviving gate of the medieval walls that once enclosed the Norman town.
Built of stone and adjoining the ruins of Selskar Abbey, it now serves as a heritage centre interpreting the town’s history from the Viking and Norman periods onwards. The tower is a good starting point for a walk around Wexford’s surviving town wall and narrow lanes. Opening arrangements vary, so check locally before visiting.
