Wild Ireland

Wild Ireland is a wildlife sanctuary at Drumhaggart in County Donegal, set in native woodland on the Inishowen peninsula. It provides a permanent home for rescued animals, several of them species that once roamed Ireland, and visitors follow walkways through the enclosures at their own pace.

The emphasis is on conservation and animal welfare, with keeper talks and information points explaining each animal’s background. Allow a couple of hours, wear footwear suited to woodland paths, and check the website for opening times and feeding schedules before travelling.
