Profile
The William Smith O’Brien Monument stands on O’Connell Street in Dublin’s north city centre, one of a line of public sculptures along the capital’s main thoroughfare. O’Brien was a nineteenth-century nationalist politician and a leader of the Young Ireland movement.
The statue is free to see at any hour and sits within a short walk of the General Post Office, the Spire and the O’Connell Monument, making it an easy addition to a wander up the street.
