Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum

Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum sits above the village of Inistioge in County Kilkenny, laid out on a slope overlooking the River Nore valley.

The restored Victorian gardens include formal terraces, a walled garden, a rose garden and the celebrated avenues of monkey puzzle and noble fir that draw photographers year-round. Woodland walks lead through the wider estate, and the ruins of Woodstock House stand as a reminder of its earlier life. There is parking, with tea rooms usually open in season. Allow a couple of hours, and expect some steady climbing between the different garden areas.
